Bayern crowned European champion, we would forget that the 2020-2021 Champions League is already on the way: Red Star Belgrade, Celtic Glasgow and Besiktas are in contention for the second qualifying round on Tuesday and Wednesday.

For these 26 clubs participating in the second preliminary round, there is still a long way to go to hope to participate in the group stage of C1, the draw of which will take place on October 1.

Among them, the Red Star of Belgrade, reigning Serbian champion and winner of the competition in 1991, will go to Albania on Tuesday, at Partizan Tirana (6 p.m.). Another former winner of the C1 (1967), Celtic Glasgow, defending Scottish champion, will host the Hungarians from Ferencváros on Wednesday (6:45 p.m.). On Tuesday, Besiktas will go to the Greek neighbor of PAOK Salonika (6 p.m.).

And if there is little chance of seeing Besiktas rally the last step of this C1, scheduled for May 29, 2021, the final should be organized on its land, in Istanbul, which was initially supposed to host the final of the 2019 edition. -2020 before plans were turned upside down by the coronavirus pandemic.

As a reminder that the Covid-19 has not disappeared, the first round match between KÍ Klaksvík and Slovan Bratislava, initially scheduled for August 19 in the Faroe Islands, was postponed for the first time to August 21 due to 'a positive case in the Bratislava delegation. Then, after further testing, a player also tested positive, making it impossible to hold the match on August 21. UEFA must now rule on this situation, which puts the second round match between the winner of this match and the Young Boys de Berne (Swiss champions) on hold.

Among the other clubs qualified at this stage, we find the champion of Croatia, Dinamo Zagreb, traveling to the champions of Romania Cluj, or the Dutch from AZ Alkmaar, who will host the Czechs of Viktoria Plzen.

After the 3rd qualifying round followed by the play-offs, the group stage will start on October 20 and 21.
