The Foundation’s Secretary-General, Ali Al-Mutawa, said, “The new health endowment comes in recognition of the foundation’s role in the development and advancement of society, as a tributary of development, and its responsibility towards society, especially in the health sector.”

He added that the proceeds of the endowment will be spent on motivating students to conduct specialized studies and research, supporting them in inventing medical devices to combat diseases and epidemics, building research centers and studies, and private clinics equipped with the latest technologies, and supporting and assisting patients in need of treatment.

He added that the endowment will support effective government efforts to confront current and future outbreaks of epidemics and diseases, while adopting an approach that ensures efficiency in setting support priorities and working side by side with the concerned authorities.

Al-Mutawa added that part of the endowment proceeds will be allocated to provide health assistance to the working health authorities, and to support research and laboratory tests conducted by health centers and colleges specializing in medical studies.

For his part, Director of the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences, Dr. Amer Ahmed Sharif, said, “The (Corona) crisis reminded us that the success and growth of any society is associated with the success and effectiveness of its health sector, and the health sector in the UAE receives priority and great attention from the leadership, and the endowment has a role. In the growth and prosperity of vital sectors such as health and education ».

He noted the establishment of a charitable endowment to spend its proceeds to strengthen the health care sector by supporting the scientific research system in the country, building specialized centers for research and studies based on the best international standards, developing new and innovative treatments to combat diseases and epidemics, and making them available to patients in need of such treatments.
