Chinanews, August 25. According to US media reports, on the 24th local time, TikTok formally sued the US government and filed a lawsuit against Trump's executive order issued on August 6.

  TikTok said in a statement, “We will not sue the government lightly, but we believe that we have no choice but to take action to protect our rights, as well as the rights of our community and employees.”

  On August 6, US President Trump issued an executive order prohibiting US individuals and companies from trading with TikTok and its Chinese parent company Bytedance. Related transactions will be banned after 45 days. On August 14, Trump issued another executive order, requiring Bytedance to divest TikTok's US business within 90 days.
