24 August 2020 The meeting of the heads of delegation with the Prime Minister, Giuseppe Conte, which was held at Palazzo Chigi, has ended. The meeting lasted about two hours, in which the theme of school and that of migrants was addressed, especially after the tear opened in Sicily by President Musumeci. The meeting was also attended by the Minister for Regional Affairs, Francesco Boccia, with a view to greater future coordination in the management of issues between central and regional level.

On the school still unknown
The fear that the growth of infections could compromise the reopening of schools, the controversy over the delay in the delivery of single-seater desks and the preparation, by some local authorities, of spaces in which to hold lessons, the criticisms of the trade unions at Minister Azzolina, which she returned to the sender, and the difficulties in arranging the transport service to take the children to school keeping the distance of at least 1 meter, have called Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte to convene a double meeting, this afternoon, with the minister of Education and the ministers responsible for the reopening, the owner of the MIT, Paola De Micheli, and the Minister of Health Roberto Speranza. The summit was also attended by Angelo Borrelli, head of civil protection and the school commissioner Domenico Arcuri and immediately after the premier began a summit with the delegation heads of the majority.

Local transport and thermoscanner
Today the expectations of the Regions who hoped for an exception to the meter of distance on means of transport were disappointed: the Technical Scientific Committee reiterated that, even with the mask, the distance of at least 1 meter between the occupants of the vehicle there must be public and if you think about the use of separators, the solution will not be available shortly and cannot be applied to metro and buses. And yet the idea of differentiating school hours "cannot be the solution", explains Fulvio Bonavitacola, the coordinator of the regional councilors for transport. "The Regions - he adds - had long ago called for a national strategy in this regard". In short, how the children will reach the schools remains a not insignificant puzzle, because if it is clear that the schools will reopen from 1 September for the recovery of learning and from 14 for lessons, it is not yet clear how to do it. without being able to take public transport. In this context, the Regions also move autonomously. This is the case of Campania, which has decided to purchase thermoscanners to be assigned to schools to ensure that the temperature is measured for pupils at the entrance of the same institutes. We will start with upper secondary school.
