But those who want to use the new toilets do not have to worry about any greater transparency while fulfilling their needs. The booths are built with so-called "smart glass", which changes the light input as soon as you lock the door and then it becomes opaque.

The toilets were designed by the architect Chigeru Ban and are part of the project "The Tokyo Toilet Project", and the purpose is to improve the standard of the city's public toilets.
