He admitted the facts after his placement in police custody on Friday in Toulouse. A 46-year-old man harassed his former partner over the phone for a fortnight, between early and mid-August. The thirty-something, living in the west of the city, warned the police on August 18 after receiving more than 1,200 calls. Each time she picked up, her interlocutor remained silent.

Despite this silence, the young woman quickly suspected her future ex-husband, just released from prison for violence against him. The couple are going through a divorce.

The investigation carried out by the Mirail territorial brigade confirmed the victim's intuition. Referred to the Toulouse public prosecutor's office on Saturday, the forty-year-old was to be tried this Monday in immediate appearance.
