The Dubai Taxi Corporation, at the Roads and Transport Authority, announced its readiness to welcome the new academic year, by applying an integrated system of precautionary measures to face the repercussions of the spread of the Coronavirus, when providing school transport service to students, to provide the utmost degree of health protection for school students.
The Director of the Corporation's Operations and Commercial Affairs Department, Marwan Al Zarouni, said that the institution has implemented precautionary measures to ensure the safety of students from the repercussions of the Corona pandemic, including scheduling programs to constantly sterilize buses before and after students disembark, and determining a capacity of 50% of the total number of students on the bus. In addition to taking the temperature of each student on the side of the bus supervisor, before boarding.
He pointed out that the number of students, registered in the school transport service, reached 18,608 students, distributed over more than 400 smart buses, belonging to the fleet of Dubai Taxi Corporation, pointing out that 21 schools contracted with the institution, to deliver students.
He explained that the success of the service is due to the selection of 408 school transport drivers trained in the skills of smart bus driving, in addition to the availability of 129 qualified supervisors to deal with students of all age groups, who have received training courses on how to deal during emergencies, and who also have certificates. Accredited by Dubai Ambulance Corporation in first aid, and other various training programs, with the aim of ensuring exceptional service for students.
Al-Zarouni confirmed that school buses are equipped with various technical systems aimed at monitoring and following up students to provide security and safety, including: cameras, a sensor to ensure the bus is free of students, an emergency button to communicate with the control center, and an electronic tracking system for the bus and the student through the GPS feature.
