Borrell called on Belarus to immediately start a national dialogue

He stated that he was "greatly impressed by the massive and peaceful demonstrations in Minsk and throughout Belarus."

“They demonstrate the determination and courage of the Belarusian people to achieve democratic changes,” Borrell wrote on his Twitter.

In his opinion, the authorities "must immediately enter into a national dialogue."

Earlier Borrell compared the presidents of Belarus and Venezuela, Alexander Lukashenko and Nicholas Maduro, who are not recognized in the EU, but are forced to deal with them.
