The Norwegian Karsten Warholm, double world champion in the 400m hurdles, set the second best performance in the history of his discipline on Sunday in 46 sec 87 in Stockholm.

Warholm thus improved his own European record (46.92 in Zurich in 2019) and failed just 9 hundredths of the historic world record of the American Kevin Young (46.78 in 1992).

At the heart of a season truncated because of the health crisis (Olympics postponed, Euro canceled), and in a stadium empty of spectators, Warholm continues to raise ever higher his discipline, in which the times have been panicking for three years also with the American Rai Benjamin and the Qatari Abderrahman Samba, absent on Sunday.

The French Wilfried Happio (49.14) and Ludvy Vaillant (49.19) finished 2nd and 3rd in the race, more than two seconds behind the Norwegian phenomenon!
