12 May 2018 The prosecutor of Palermo ordered the arrest of Emanuele Pelli, 34, a convict, who last night ran over with his car and killed two women, mother and daughter, in the Brancaccio district in Palermo. The driver then fled without stopping to help the victims. According to the findings he was without a license and without car insurance. He is accused of double street homicide. The man who lives in Brancaccio is married and the father of two children. In his home the surveys of the carabinieri of the mobile radio are underway; he was stopped at the Santa Rosalia Village and subjected to alcohol and drug tests at the Civic Hospital. When he was stopped he did not resist. "He knew he was wanted," investigators say.

The victims are a 62-year-old woman, Annamaria La Mantia, and her 42-year-old daughter, Angela Merenda. According to an initial reconstruction of the facts, around 11.30 pm, the two were overwhelmed by a Fiat Punto in via Fichidindia, in the Brancaccio district.

The 62-year-old died instantly, while her daughter, transported to the Civic hospital in desperate conditions, died shortly after from serious injuries sustained in the impact. The car was tracked down just before 2 am by the carabinieri. The Fiat Punto is under seizure in a judicial deposit of the Scientific.
