The goal: to come and discuss, in particular the recent controversy concerning hunting. The Greens indeed reproach the former tenor of the bar for having signed, when he was not yet a minister, the preface to a book by the boss of the federation of hunters Willy Schraen, in which he denounced the " ayatollahs of ecology ”.
Remarks which he defended himself this Saturday: "I saw what was said (on social networks) of my subject" but "it is false. I stigmatized the extremists, not the environmentalists ”and“ if I am here it is because I think you are not ayatollahs. Otherwise, I wouldn't be there ”. "These are the extremists that I implicated", insisted Eric Dupond-Moretti. "I understand that you were hurt" by the way "the buzz was presented. I made my back round. I waited to come here to explain myself ”.
Glue hunting in the viewfinder
Among the topics covered, the hunt for glue, one of the battle horses of environmentalists. "I am against the slime hunt because it is not a selective hunt," he said. “But you can't curse everyone who practices it. They are often elders. We can have a different apprehension (on how to hunt) depending on our roots ”.
The former lawyer also announced that he would defend the creation of a "crime which will punish major attacks on air, water and soil".
"Minister, sexism"
Also questioned by environmentalists on some of his comments deemed "sexist" by the Greens, when he was not yet a minister, Eric Dupond-Moretti defended himself. “I said that the MeToo movement was going to free the voice of women and that it was positive. I asked that women be better received by the police when they come to file a complaint for domestic violence, I even said that the bastards should be condemned, ”he pleaded. "On the other hand, I said that the Web could not be the receptacle of these complaints".
While he was speaking, activists held up placards which read, among other things, "Minister, sexism".
