22 August 2020A pair of glasses that belonged to Mahatma Gandhi were sold at auction in Great Britain for the remarkable sum of 260,000 pounds, about 288,000 euros.

An American collector raised 18 times over the course of six minutes before hitting the eyewear that seriously threatened to end up in the trash before being sold at East Bristol Auctions. Arrived in a simple envelope, by mail, for days no one took them from the mailbox where they had ended up.

On its Instagram page, the British auction house posted a shot of the moment in which the Mahatma's glasses were sold, kept by the Gandhi family for generations, as it was later found: "an incredible result for an incredible article", the comment.
