France: against the Greens, Éric Dupond-Moretti defends the government's policy

He had been controversial by treating them as "ayatollahs", the Minister of Justice Eric Dupond-Moretti nevertheless responded to the invitation of the Greens and came to discuss with them Saturday afternoon in Pantin on the site of their "Days" summer ”. A debate which took place in peace and during which the minister also wanted to defend the ecological policy of the government.

He had qualified them "ayatollahs", the ecologists had not appreciated at all, so in front of them, the minister wishes first to explain himself.

"  When I read that I called the environmentalists Ayatollahs, it is wrong," he says. What I said, however, is that there are extremists, and they are everywhere, and that I stigmatized them.  "

Half an hour of debate, Éric Dupond-Moretti speaks out against the glue hunt in a personal capacity, promises that he will strengthen the arsenal against violence against women, but above all, he wishes to defend the ecological policy of the government.

“  The results of the President of the Republic are first of all Fessenheim - I think I remember that you belonged to the majority, it was not done, it was he who did it. It is also the coal plants ...  "

"  All that is not done, unfortunately,  " retorts an activist present.

No crime of ecocide under study - as his interlocutors would like - but the minister commits to a "  crime  " and sets a date for next year: "  We are caught up in time, but at the next university summer I come back. We'll have more time. "

“  And we hope that you will have more results between the two and that we will not have to wait until next year to wait for this discussion,  ” insists an activist to applause.

Not unhappy with their political coup, the ecologists who succeeded in bringing in the minister; not unhappy either Eric Dupond-Moretti who on behalf of the government thus sends messages directly to the ecological electorate.
