Mutlaq Al-Qahtani, the Qatari Minister of Foreign Affairs’s envoy to combat terrorism, mediation and dispute settlement, met today, Saturday, with Lieutenant General Muhammad Hamdan Dagalo (Hamidati), Vice President of the Sovereign Council in Sudan and head of the government negotiation delegation to Juba, as part of the Qatari mediation to settle the conflict between the Sudanese parties.

The two sides exchanged views on ways to bring peace to Sudan, and Al-Qahtani assured Hamidati of the support of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the peace process in Sudan.

For his part, Hemedti said in a tweet to him on Twitter, "I met today in the South Sudanese capital, Juba, the Special Envoy of the Qatari government, and the meeting, in the presence of Mediator Tut Qalwak, dealt with the progress of peace talks with the armed struggle forces, and also touched on the Doha Peace Agreement in Darfur."

Al-Qahtani also discussed with the Chairman of the Peace Mediation Committee between the Sudanese Parties in Juba, Counselor Tut Qalwak, ways to support the peace process, achieve stability in Sudan, and promote the initiative led by the State of South Sudan to bring peace between the Sudanese parties.

It is noteworthy that Mutlaq Al-Qahtani arrived in Juba today on a two-day visit, to consult with mediation and the Sudanese parties within Qatar's mission in mediation and dispute resolution.
