Tens of millions of bottles of the world's finest Italian wines are destined to be stocked with hand sanitizers, which many enthusiasts lament.

According to Italian local media such as La Repubblica on the 21st of the local time, the Italian wine industry, which is regarded as the world's highest quality, faced a sales crisis in the aftermath of Corona 19.

This is because all restaurants and pubs were closed due to a blockade by the Italian government for two months from last March. The blockade was lifted in May, but it still falls short of the previous sales volume.

Since the world is experiencing the corona 19 crisis, exports are not the same, so the wine industry believes that the export declined by about 4% this year due to Corona 19, recording the worst performance since the last 30 years.

The problem is the stock that's already in the warehouse while it's already entering the vintage season.

Production and storage of new wine requires that much space, but in the end, winemakers have no choice but to dispose of high-quality wine in a tray with tears.

In the midst of this, hand sanitizers, whose demand surged due to Corona 19, emerged as an alternative to inventory disposal.

It is said that 10 liters of high-purity alcohol can be made per 100 liters of wine.

The Italian government is also supporting this transition in June to help clear wine inventory and smooth the supply of hand sanitizers.

In June, an executive order was introduced that made the use of 70 million bottles of wine in stock to manufacture a hand sanitizer with an alcohol content of 92%.

Italy is the world's largest wine producer authorized by Zata, and only 567 grape varieties used in wine production, exports last year alone amounted to 6.4 billion euros, and our money amounted to 8,900 billion won.
