Actor Mikhail Efremov refused the services of his lawyer Elman Pashayev and his partner during a court hearing in the case of an accident in the center of Moscow, in which the artist became a participant.
As noted by Efremov, the lawyers had previously convinced him that "we have the fairest trial."

In connection with the decision of Efremov, the next court hearing in the case of an accident with his participation will take place at 10:00 on Monday, August 24.
Recall that on June 8, Mikhail Efremov, while driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee, drove into the oncoming lane in the center of Moscow and crashed into a Lada van driven by the online store courier Sergey Zakharov. The driver of Lada died in hospital from his injuries.
Later, an examination established that at the time of the accident, Efremov was in a state of alcoholic intoxication. Traces of drugs were also found in his blood.

A few days after the accident, the artist published a video in which he apologized to the family of the deceased, but later said that he could not admit his guilt, because he did not remember the moment of the accident.
At the previous meeting today, a defense witness made a speech, who said that Efremov was in the passenger seat immediately after the accident. The man insisted that there were at least two people in the artist's car. However, he admitted that he was blind in one eye, on the day of the accident he drank alcohol.
On the evening of August 20, Mikhail Efremov's lawyer Elman Pashayev said that the person who was allegedly sitting in the actor's car at the time of the accident had been identified.
“This person is established, this is a very famous, difficult person. You will find out later, ”said the lawyer.
Efremov himself said in court today that he was "90% sure" that at the time of the accident he was in the passenger seat.
“I tend to sit in the passenger seat. Moreover, they dragged me there, ”the actor said. At the same time, the court refused to conduct an examination of the passenger airbag, which, in the opinion of Efremov's defense, could confirm this version.
In addition, Efremov believes that he could have broken the windshield, as he incorrectly fastened his seat belt. Along with this, he said that he "did not seek to get behind the wheel."
Commenting on the decision of Efremov to refuse Pashayev's services, the lawyer called this step a legal right of the defendant.
“This is his legal right. In court, we were not allowed to work and represent our position, ”he said. According to the lawyer, Efremov told him during the break that he and his colleague Elizaveta Shargorodskaya irritated the judge.
Note that at the meeting on August 21, Efremov's lawyer Elman Pashayev challenged Judge Elena Abramova in connection with "signs that the court in your person is interested in the outcome of the case." According to him, the court refused to appoint new examinations that "will help establish the truth in the case."
The judge, in turn, refused to take the challenge at the request of the defense of the accused. “Having listened to the views of the parties, the court finds no grounds to satisfy the defense's petition for challenge,” Abramova said.
The prosecution's lawyer, Alexander Dobrovinsky, commented on the actor's decision to refuse the services of his lawyer Elman Pashayev. According to the lawyer, such a move on the part of Efremov is an attempt to delay the process.
“Efremov will not find anyone, and we will again observe Pashayev and Shargorodskaya in the process. Either he will return on Monday with Mr. Pashayev, or he can say that he has not found anyone, ”RIA Novosti quotes Dobrovinsky. At the same time, Pashayev himself also does not exclude that he will return to court on Monday.
“Will I be on Monday for the trial? Not. If Efremov does not find a replacement, I will not leave him, ”he told reporters.
The media reported that when speaking about alternatives to Pashaev, Efremov mentioned the names of such lawyers as Henry Reznik and Genrikh Padva in court. Both lawyers said that they had not yet received any appeal from Efremov.
