The FSB found that a native of the near abroad, living in Nizhny Novgorod, "repeatedly through electronic payment systems carried out transfers" of funds to members of terrorist organizations in Afghanistan.
On this fact, the FSB opened a criminal case under Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of Russia ("Assistance in terrorist activities").
In mid-July, a court in Kaliningrad arrested a man on suspicion of financing terrorism. This was reported in the regional press service of the FSB of Russia.
