On Friday, a message came from the Minister of the Interior Mikael Damberg (S) and the Minister of Culture and Democracy Amanda Lind (MP) that the government has proposed that events with seated audiences should be allowed to take in more than 50 people.

- The proposal applies to seated events where you can plan so that there is distance between the audience. The organizer is responsible for planning the activities so that it works in infectious forms, says Minister of the Interior Mikael Damberg during the press conference.

For Blekinge's sports clubs, which are struggling with the economy due to the corona pandemic, it was a positive message.

- It is good that it is moving in the right direction but I am not sure that it is enough and there is still a lot that is unclear, says Anders Gustavsson, chairman of Mörrums Hockey.

Carefully positive

Mjällby AIF is also cautiously positive about the news.

- It is of course positive that we see that something is happening in some way and that we are moving forward towards a solution. At the same time, we did not really receive more information than to investigate the matter further, says Fredrik Danielsson, club manager Mjällby AIF.

The ambition is for the new rules to enter into force on 1 October and the requirement is that there should be a distance of two meters between the spectators. In addition, the Swedish Public Health Agency must state a ceiling for how many people an arrangement with seats should be allowed to take in.

- It is nice that we are doing this now to come to a solution and that we have a date to relate to, says Fredrik Danielsson.
