This is reported by TASS with reference to the statement of the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

“We call on the Belarusian government to actively interact with the Belarusian society, including through the recently created National Coordination Council, in a way that reflects what the Belarusian people demand, for the sake of the future of Belarus and for a successful Belarus,” he said.

He also called on Minsk to accept the OSCE's proposals to facilitate dialogue between the government and the opposition.

On August 20, it became known that the General Prosecutor's Office of Belarus opened a criminal case under the article on the seizure of power in connection with the creation of a coordination council by the opposition. This was announced by the Prosecutor General of the Republic Alexander Konyuk.

In turn, the Coordination Council of the Belarusian opposition appealed to the Prosecutor General's Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the KGB and the Investigative Committee of Belarus with a demand to hold urgent meetings.
