Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani affirmed Qatar's firm stance on supporting the rights of the Palestinian people.
In a call with the Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Saeb Erekat, yesterday evening, Thursday, the minister stressed adherence to international legitimacy, the relevant Security Council resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative, as a basis for achieving a just and sustainable peace that guarantees the establishment of a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital.
For his part, Erekat stressed the Palestinian side's appreciation of the position of the State of Qatar, and the ongoing efforts to stop the attack on the Palestinian territories and innocent civilians in Gaza.
