According to the head of the Belarusian government, earlier the EU allocated "small countries such as Moldova 100 million and more euros" for the implementation of small programs in education and health.

Golovchenko also said that Ukraine received “about € 1 billion” to fight the coronavirus infection COVID-19.

"Here it (the situation in Belarus. - RT) is presented as the largest political event in 25 years of its existence - and only 53 million," he added. 

Earlier, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, announced the EU's decision to allocate an additional € 53 million in aid to the Belarusian people.

She clarified that € 2 million will be allocated to “victims of repression and violence”, € 1 million to support “civil society and independent media” and € 50 million - to the health sector to fight the coronavirus.
