A 77-year-old neighbor of La Puebla del Río (Seville) has become the first fatality of the Nile virus this Thursday in the province of Seville, sources close to the family have confirmed.

The deceased had been admitted for several days in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Virgen del Rocío hospital in Seville, according to the same sources. His condition worsened in the afternoon, and he died shortly before 9:00 p.m.
