According to the information received by Ilta-Sanomat, this is a A-series car that can be charged with a Mercedes-Benz plug.
The A-series, manufactured with an internal combustion engine only, has been assembled in Uusikaupunki since 2018. The Mercedes-Benz GLC model will also remain in the factory's production.
Valmet Automotive's Uusikaupunki car plant announced earlier this week that it would suspend the layoffs of more than a thousand employees that began at the end of June and move back to three-shift work. More than 500 layoffs are called back to work. According to the company, no job is now available for all those laid off.
The company justified the need for layoffs with the negative impact of the corona pandemic on the car market.
