"Control and control" updates the laboratory examination criteria for "Covid 19"
The Control and Control Center for Coronavirus Control in Dubai issued the first update of laboratory examination standards for the Covid-19 virus, with the aim of ensuring the highest levels of safety and quality for "Covid 19" testing services in health facilities licensed by the Dubai Health Authority, and ensuring that patients who were tested obtain reliable results, And correct in time, and the Covid-19 test results from unauthorized laboratories were rejected by the Dubai Health Authority.
The Center has identified 17 laboratories in Dubai to conduct Covid-19 tests, which are: AGOMEX laboratory in Al Barsha South 2, Al Zahra Hospital in Al Barsha, American Hospital Oud Metha, Mina Lab in Al Quoz 4, Emirates Hospital Laboratory in Dubai Healthcare City, Eurofins Laboratory in Al Bada area, Freiburg laboratory The medical laboratory in Al-Karama area, the Iranian hospital laboratory in Al-Bada area, the virology laboratory at Latifa Hospital in Oud Maitha, all the laboratories of the Mediclinic Hospitals group in Dubai, the Medsall Dubai medical laboratory in Al-Muraqqabat area, the national reference laboratory in Al-Barsha, South 2, the Pure Health laboratory at Dubai airport, the clinical scientific laboratories (UniLabs) ) In Jumeirah, Star Metropolis Clinical Laboratory in Al Hamriya, Vivit Genome Laboratory in Al Bada area, York Diagnostic Laboratories in JLT.
Regarding antibody tests, the Dubai Control and Control Center stressed that health facilities should refrain from using the rapid test for Corona, which are mobile tests that allow the patient to conduct such types of tests at his home or anywhere such as a pregnancy test.
The center indicated that health facilities and clinical laboratories must conduct a serological antibody test as indicated in the recommendations of the serological test for Coronavirus disease published by the National Testing Committee without prior approval from the Dubai Health Authority, and that the results of the serological test do not need to be entered into immunity. The disclaimer should be mentioned at the end of patient reports for both negative and positive results, and serology tests for Coronavirus antibody should not be used.
The center pointed out that Covid-19 testing services are limited to Dubai Health Authority laboratories in addition to clinical laboratories in hospitals, and independent clinical laboratories after obtaining the approval of the Dubai Health Authority.
The center stated that the laboratories and health care facilities that request approval must submit a proposal to the Dubai Health Authority, comply with the requirements of the authority's examination, register on the Hanaa platform and obtain the necessary training, and integrate the clinical laboratory information system with the Hasana platform, and in all cases must ensure all health facilities In the emirate there is a contract with clinical laboratories accredited by the Dubai Health Authority
On the criteria for conducting the test, the Dubai Control and Control Center clarified that the Covid-19 test should only be requested by a doctor licensed by the Dubai Health Authority in accordance with the national clinical guidelines and based on the priority testing criteria, and the Dubai Health Authority and the Control and Control Center must update the standards Test regularly, and for suspected Covid-19 cases, the treating physician must give clear and comprehensive instructions to the patient regarding self-quarantine so that results are reported.
The center indicated that the treating physician has the responsibility to inform patients of the test result and provide the necessary information and guidance based on national guidelines, and all health facilities must adhere to the fixed service price for the Covid-19 test, which is 370 dirhams (including value added tax), and refrain from adding any additional fees. To deliver the test result including but not limited to telephone, calling, texting, VIP or expediting services.
