In response to an inquiry at a regular press conference on August 19, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian pointed out that the DPP authorities will vainly attempt to engage in separatist activities in the international arena and will never succeed and will inevitably be rejected by the international community.

A reporter asked that on August 18, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Government of Somalia issued a statement condemning Taiwan for destroying Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Earlier reports stated that the "Taiwan Representative Office in Somaliland" was officially listed. What is China's comment?

"The DPP authorities' attempts to engage in separatist activities in the international arena will never succeed, and they will inevitably be cast aside by the international community." Zhao Lijian said.

He emphasized that there is only one China in the world and Taiwan is an inalienable part of China. The one-China principle is a universally recognized norm of international relations and a universal consensus of the international community.

"Here, I also advise the relevant parties not to take a fluke and go against the trend to challenge the one-China principle. This will only ignite the fire and reap the consequences," he said. (Reporter Zhang Su edited Guo Shihao)
