Kurz called for new presidential elections in Belarus

He said this before the start of the EU online summit on the situation in Belarus.

“We need new elections that will be free and fair,” TASS quotes Kurz.

He also called on the Belarusian authorities to establish a dialogue with the opposition, and the EU to formulate a “clear position” on the situation in Belarus.

“In my opinion, sanctions are needed against those responsible for the violence against the opposition and demonstrators,” the Austrian Chancellor emphasized.
