According to him, on August 19, the negotiators discussed the situation related to the Rada's decision to schedule the next local elections in Ukraine in 2020. Gryzlov noted that the decree blocks "the introduction of decisions made by the contact group."

"The resolution contains a number of provisions that directly contradict the Minsk agreements, grossly violates the UN Security Council resolution, interferes with the implementation of the orders of the leaders of the Normandy format," TASS quotes Gryzlov.

He noted that after the discussion, Kravchuk "undertook to apply in writing to the Verkhovna Rada about the possibility of bringing this resolution in line with the Minsk agreements."

Gryzlov added that Kravchuk also "declared his readiness to confirm this commitment in writing and send this document to all participants in the negotiations."

Earlier it was reported that the next meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group on Donbass will be held on September 2.
