The heavy rainfall was mainly concentrated in the western Sichuan Basin, the western Sichuan plateau and the Panxi region. This rainfall process has the characteristics of strong rain, long duration, wide coverage and large accumulated rainfall.

  In terms of cumulative rainfall, from 20:00 on the 14th to 8:00 on the 18th, 1198 stations in Sichuan Province had rainfall of 100.0-249.9 mm, 637 stations of 250.0-399.9 mm, and 166 stations of 400-600 mm. The cumulative maximum rainfall occurred in Huangxu Town, Jingyang District, Deyang City, reaching 865.0 mm. The 2 stations of Mianzhu and Longquanyi set the extreme daily rainfall since the meteorological record, and the stations of Beichuan and Jiangyou were the third highest value since the meteorological record.
