- We had a big wave of thefts in mid-February to the end of March. Then the police arrested two leagues in Uppsala and Motala, says Postnord's security manager Alexis Larsson.

After the theft wave this spring, it was calmer for a while. But on July 3, thieves struck again. Postnord has been affected mainly in Central Sweden. Postnord, like many larger companies, does not have insurance that covers theft.

- I do not know what it costs. It can certainly be about 30,000 kronor for each car if you include repairs, production stoppages, rental cars and more, says Alexis Larsson.

Safer parking solutions

The cars that were exposed to the thefts are larger vans. The thieves do not have to use a jack to access the catalyst.

- We are looking at different solutions. It should be the case that you have to use a jack, says Alexis Larsson and explains that an idea is to have raised frames in the parking lots that prevent the thieves from getting under the cars.

Postnord's security department has also increased security to be able to detect the thieves.

- We have a very active preventive safety work. We are used to catching thieves ourselves, says Alexis Larsson.
