Just over two weeks ago, on the night of August 2, a twelve-year-old girl was shot to death at a rest area in Norsborg, south of Stockholm. All indications are that she was not the target of the shots fired from a car that drove from the scene after the act.

Immediately after the incident, the police called in several people for questioning and appealed for witnesses to appear.

Intensive investigation

- There are people who know who shot, who drove the car and know where the car is. Society's security is based on people telling the police what they know, Stefan Hector, chief operating officer at Noa, told TT a few days after the act.

But still no suspect has been arrested.

- Intensive investigative work is underway and a large number of interrogations have been carried out. We will soon, when there is a situation in the investigation and it is possible, come up with a more detailed situation report regarding the investigation situation, says Carina Skagerlind, the police's press spokesperson at the Stockholm region.

She emphasizes that the police are still interested in tips.

Has similarities

The police went out at an early stage and said that they were particularly interested in observations about a white car of the combi model, which can be seen on a surveillance film from the crime scene. A picture of the car was published and a couple of days later the police were alerted that a similar car had been found burnt out on a gravel road in Sollentuna.

- The car that was found in Sollentuna has similarities with the car that we asked for observations about in connection with the murder. We're looking at if it's the same car. We can neither confirm nor dismiss that it is the same car at the moment, says Carina Skagerlind.
