During Friday and Saturday, the environmental administration in Gothenburg carried out 28 inspections of the city's restaurants, including along Kungsportsavenyn, in Linnestaden, and in Vastastaden.

13 of the inspections ended with a report of congestion. Four decisions have also been made on the imposition of a fine.

- It is the same problem we have seen before. There are a lot of people out and it gets very crowded at night. You need to work on this further, says Peter Löwendahl, press officer at the City of Gothenburg's environmental administration.

The City of Gothenburg has previously made 741 inspection visits, including follow-ups, with the aim of preventing the spread of covid-19. 234 complaints have been made regarding congestion, of which 196 have been rectified. In 17 cases, businesses have been required to take measures and nine of them have also been fined.
