“Often, threats are directed at their family members, and in some cases children are intimidated and harassed, which goes beyond the bounds of morality and ethics and is unacceptable for modern society,” the Belarusian Investigative Committee said in Telegram.

Those involved in the threats are being identified.

As specified in the department, for insults, threats of violence and the collection and dissemination of information about private life, criminal liability is provided.

“The maximum punishment for some of these actions is up to imprisonment for up to six years,” they explained.

Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic said that in the period from August 9 to 13, 121 police officers were injured during the protests, more than 90 criminal cases were initiated.
