The commercial court of Lille, in the north of France, validated on Monday the takeover of the ready-to-wear brand Camaïeu by the Financière immobilière bordelaise. The FIB plans to save more than 2,600 jobs and 511 stores out of a total of 634.

This is a victory for the inter-union of Camaïeu who supported the takeover offer of FIB, Financière immobilière Bordeaux, owned by businessman Michel Ohayon, who notably acquired 22 Galeries Lafayette franchises.

“  We are very happy, very happy. There are not enough qualifiers to express our joy. The judges heard us. We are happy that it is the FIB because, already, there is less breakage, less layoffs. There are fewer stores that will close, that is also important. But we also count on the FIB to take over the employees [made redundant] when the company gets better,  ”said RFI Omar Rahni, CGT Camaïeu delegate.

The Lille commercial court thus rejects the offer deemed less advantageous from Joannes Soënen, the current CEO of the company.

Good news also for Roubaix

As a result, 2,659 out of 3,146 existing jobs will be saved, as will many providers. “  Like nothing else, we also saved 450 jobs at the Dispeo site. It is a logistics platform that works for Camaïeu, continues the CGT delegate. Finally, it is very good for a city like Roubaix, which is affected in terms of employment. We keep 600 jobs in [the city] .  "

But 460 people will still have to leave. It will be either voluntary departures or redundancies for economic reasons, as part of a plan to safeguard employment of 5 million euros.
