The General Directorate of Traffic of Dubai Police arrested a reckless driver accompanied by two other people, who drove a four-wheel drive vehicle recklessly, without a number plate, reversing traffic, endangering his life and the safety of his companions and road users, after he refused to comply with the police patrol orders to stop, Rather, he collided with her, endangering the lives of those in her.

The Director of the Department, Brigadier General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, said that Federal Law No. 21 of 1995 regarding traffic and traffic is punished for driving a vehicle recklessly without a number plate, in a way that endangers people's lives and causes damage to their money in light of non-compliance with police orders, with imprisonment for a period of no less than A month and not exceeding three years, a fine that does not exceed 300 thousand dirhams, suspension of the driving license for two years and the deprivation of renewing it for a similar period (in the case of a driver’s license). In the absence of a driver’s license, the judicial authorities will be asked to deprive the driver of the vehicle from obtaining A new driver's license for a period of not less than 4 years, in addition to the confiscation of the vehicle used to commit these acts.

Regarding the details of the incident, Al Mazrouei explained that a police patrol was performing its duties on Jebel Ali Street - Lahbab, and saw a vehicle in the street without a number plate, traveling at a speed that posed a danger to road users, pointing out that the patrol tried to stop the vehicle, but its commander refused to comply with the notice of the patrol through the lawn. And a loudspeaker device, "two-tone acoustic", and made a wrong turn and reversed the traffic, to go to Dubai Street - Al-Ain.

He added that the driver of the vehicle saw cars coming in the right direction while driving against the direction of traffic, so he deliberately collided with the police patrol and then went to Emirates Road on the road heading towards the Emirate of Sharjah. He broke down and stopped moving, so traffic officers were able to arrest the driver and his companions, and take the necessary legal measures against them.

Al-Mazrouei warned against driving recklessly and recklessly because that endangers personal life and the safety of road users, stressing that the law will be applied to any reckless person, stopping and seizing his vehicle, and referring him to the judiciary to take the necessary legal measures.

He appealed to parents to educate their children about the importance of adhering to laws, and to be responsible by preserving private and public roads and properties, and to promote positive behaviors, to reduce traffic accidents.
