An example is the Värmland computer game group Embracer Group. In four years, they have gone from a market capitalization of just over 1 billion to over 50 billion. As a result, the company is now valued higher on the stock exchange than classic industrial companies such as Getinge and Husqvarna.

This week, they presented their latest report, which among other things showed that the company is increasing its net sales by 81 percent.

Other Swedish gaming companies that are growing strongly are Stillfront Group (+142 percent on the stock exchange since the turn of the year and a market capitalization of around SEK 30 billion) and Paradox Interactive (+50 percent on the stock exchange and a market capitalization of around SEK 25 billion).

- We have grown from almost nothing to over 4,000 employees and lately it has gone even better, says Lars Wingefors, CEO of Embracer Group.

Rise of over 900 percent

The audiobook company Storytel is another Swedish digital company that has benefited from the pandemic.

Today, the company is present in 20 countries and has around 700 employees. A few years ago, they bought Nordstedt's publishing house and Storytel's share has risen over 85 percent since the turn of the year.

- In the countries where the schools closed, we saw a very strong upswing when new customers came in and started listening to audio books, says Jonas Tellander, CEO of Storytel.

The Swedish company that rushed the most on the stock market this year, with an increase of over 900 percent, is Bambuser. Their video function became known during the Arab Spring in 2011 and since then the company has tested several different business models.

"Conditions have never been better"

About a year ago, Bambuser once again changed strategy and this time chose to invest in what they call "live video shopping", a kind of digital TV shop. This is something that has become very big in China during the corona spring and which has now gained real momentum in other parts of the world as closed stores have forced companies to find new ways for their customers.

- Since the corona came, we have had a huge boost. We have a digital tool to help everyone in retail sell even though the stores are closed, says Maryam Ghahremani, CEO of Bambuser.

Tin Fonder monitors and invests money in several of the Swedish digital companies that have grown strongly in recent times. They are optimistic do not see any major risks with the rapid growth.

- The conditions for running a digital business have never been better, says Erik Sprinchorn, manager at Tin Fonder.

About 20 years ago, many stock prices crashed in the so-called dotcom crash. You see no risk of a new crash?

- Not because the business model would be bad, but the primary risk is around the values.
