The'Firenado' alarm has been issued in the state of California, USA.

The National Weather Service (NWS) says flame tornadoes of up to 60 miles per hour (96.5 km) have been observed at the site of the'Royal Turn Fire' wildfire in Larson County, California.

The term firenado, which is a combination of fire and tornado, occurs when a large wildfire creates a hot updraft.

The Meteorological Administration said it was difficult to predict the direction and intensity of wildfires due to the firenado, and warned firefighters that it was "extremely dangerous."

CNN reported that some firefighters were struck by a firenado of up to 143 miles per hour (230 km) during a massive wildfire called'car fire' in northern California in 2018, according to CNN.

Royalton Fire, which caused the firenado, has burned 20,000 acres (80.9㎢) of grassland so far, and the progress of building a barrier to prevent the spread of wildfires is only 5%.
