It is noted that Lukashenko informed Putin about the situation in Belarus after the presidential elections in the republic.

"Both sides expressed confidence that all the problems that have arisen will be resolved soon," the message says.

During the conversation, it was noted that the main thing is that the problems in Belarus should not be used by destructive forces that seek to damage the mutually beneficial cooperation of the two countries within the framework of the Union State.

“In connection with the return to Russia of 32 citizens previously detained in Belarus to Russia the day before, a positive assessment was given to the close cooperation of the relevant departments on this issue,” the Kremlin added.

The presidents agreed to continue regular contacts at various levels, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening allied relations. The Kremlin noted that this "fully meets the fundamental interests of the fraternal peoples of Russia and Belarus."

Earlier, the press service of the President of Belarus reported that Lukashenko and Putin discussed the situation in and around Belarus.
