As stated in the Russian National Defense Control Center, on August 15, Russian airspace control devices detected an air target approaching at the Russian state border over the neutral waters of the Black Sea.

“To identify and identify the target, a Su-27 fighter from the air defense forces of the Southern Military District was raised in the air,” the center said.

The aerial object was identified as the EP-3E Aries aircraft of the US Navy.

After the US aircraft turned from the Russian border, the Su-27 returned to the home airfield.

The Russian border was not violated.

The day before, the Russian Su-27 also climbed to intercept American reconnaissance aircraft over the Black Sea, which eventually turned away from the border.
