According to him, the United States is negotiating with European leaders on the situation in Belarus.

He also called on the Belarusian authorities to "start a dialogue with society."

On August 10, the CEC of Belarus announced the preliminary results of the presidential elections in the republic, according to which the incumbent President Alexander Lukashenko is gaining 80.23% of the vote.

On August 12, all the candidates for the presidency of Belarus, except for Alexander Lukashenko, challenged the results of the presidential elections in the Central Election Commission of the republic.
