According to Lukashenko, Belarus and Russia have a military treaty within the framework of the Union State and the CSTO.

He noted that on August 15, he and Putin had a long and detailed conversation about the situation in Belarus.

“And we agreed with him: at our first request, comprehensive assistance will be provided to ensure the security of the Republic of Belarus,” Lukashenko said.

At the same time, Lukashenko said that he was surprised that Putin "is absolutely privy to what is happening."

Earlier, the Kremlin said that during a telephone conversation, Putin and Lukashenko expressed confidence that the problems that arose in Belarus would soon be resolved.
