August 15, 2020A 34-year-old motorist died today hit by the 2651 regional train of Trenord Milan-Mantua at the level crossing between Maleo (Lodi) and Pizzighettone (Cremona).From an initial inspection, the investigators believe that the bars of the level crossing were not properly lowered when the convoy arrived. When Polfer and Carabinieri arrived on the spot, in fact, the mobile barriers were found raised and intact.
The line is still interrupted for further investigations and replacement buses have been instituted.
