There are two traditional city parties: Karl-Oskardagarna has been running for 35 years and Ljungbydagarna for 21 years - but this year nothing is the same.

In Växjö, the city party is officially canceled. Instead, Växjö residents are offered "Karl-Oskar streetshopping", some shops in the city have pulled out their goods on the pedestrian street and troubadours play for those who have gone out in the summer heat.

- People still want to do stuff. As long as you follow the recommendations, it's all right. Great initiative, says Oliver Ericsson who stood and listened to the music at Båtsmanstorget in Växjö.

Do you not miss the big concerts then?

- Yes, little.

Even in Ljungby, the big tents and artists shine with their absence. Instead, the organizers have set up an outdoor restaurant with six food carts, surrounded by a fence. Visitors order by phone and have the food served at the table.

800 seats have been arranged, but they can seat a maximum of 450 people.

- There is a lot of space for a limited number of guests. You should feel corona-safe when you come here, says Ola Hansson, who arranges the Ljungby Days.
