The German Lennard Kämna (Bora) won on Saturday in Megève the 4th stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné now deprived of the winner of the Tour, the Colombian Egan Bernal.

On the eve of the finish of the event, the Slovenian Primoz Roglic (Jumbo) kept the yellow leader's jersey despite a fall that occurred during the stage.

To win, Kämna left behind on the climb to the Megève altiport (7.4 km at 4.7%) his companions with a breakaway launched shortly after the start. Spaniard David de la Cruz took second place, forty seconds behind, and Frenchman Julian Alaphilippe third, less than a minute away.

The group of favorites was settled, at about 3 minutes, by Thibaut Pinot, also victim of a fall without consequences apparently.

Egan Bernal has given up taking the start from Ugine (Savoie). In pain in his back, according to his Welsh teammate Geraint Thomas.

The Dutch Steven Kruijswijk and the German Emanuel Buchmann, respectively third and fourth in the 2019 Tour, gave up after a fall after about thirty kilometers.

"I am very happy with my first victory," said Kämna, a 23-year-old silver medalist in the U21 Worlds race.

Sunday, the 5th and last stage is run around Megève, passing through the Romme and Colombière passes. The arrival is judged again at the Megève altiport after 153.5 kilometers.
