This morning, the celebration of the 75th anniversary of Liberation Day, held at Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul, began with four patriots escorted by the honor guard.

President Moon Jae-in, who arrived in front of the podium first, greeted them.

In his congratulatory address, President Moon said, "I look back on whether the liberation of the country as well as individual liberation has been achieved," referring to the issue of compensation for victims of forced mobilization in Japan.

Respecting our Supreme Court ruling, he said he would always consult with Japan to find a solution that victims can agree on.

[Even now, the door of consultation remains wide open. Our government is always ready to sit face to face with the Japanese government.]

He added that he will also confirm that protecting individual dignity will never hurt the country.

President Moon also emphasized inter-Korean cooperation again, saying that true liberation is the guarantee of personal dreams and lives on the unified Korean Peninsula.

[Inter-Korean cooperation is the best security policy for both South and North Korea to escape the dependence on nuclear or military power.]

In particular, referring to quarantine cooperation, shared river management, and health care and forestry cooperation, President Moon said he hopes to open the waters of win-win and peace to achieve peace, economy, and a community of life by closely cooperating with the new security situation in the corona era.
