Maître Dieudonné Ouilly, the lawyer for the mayor of the capital, said he was satisfied with the very holding of this trial in view of the seriousness of the facts and the quality of one of the accused. “  Everyone told me to drop the case,  ” he said.

As for Maître Seraphin Somé, the magistrate's lawyer, he said he was surprised by the verdict because the prosecution could not demonstrate "the fraudulent maneuver  ", as a constituent element of the offense of attempted fraud.

It all started with the purchase of 77 vehicles by the town hall of Ouagadougou. The justice had opened an investigation to verify the regularity of the procedure of purchase of the said vehicles.

Judge Narcisse Sawadogo and his acolyte, Alasane Bagagnan, then came into contact with the mayor Armand Pierre Béouindé, to offer him " to intervene with the magistrates in charge of the case to have the file closed  against a sum of 70 million. of CFA francs  ”.

But Mayor Armand Beouindé had recorded all their conversations and broadcast them on social networks. The prosecutor then seized the file. The two individuals have therefore just been sentenced to 24 months in prison, 12 of which are closed for attempted fraud.
