Barcelona returned to Spain this evening, hours after they suffered a historic 8-2 defeat by Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals.

The Catalan club’s fans did not wait until the team’s return, and from the morning they hung up banners around the club’s sports city, to which the players went directly after their arrival from the airport from the Portuguese capital Lisbon.

The banners included harsh expressions, expressing the indignation of the fans against all members of the team, and the attack did not exclude the players, coach or management.

The banners carried slogans such as "Mercenaries Leave", "Administration and Players ... Shame on the 121-year history" and "Less luxury and more honor."

Fans gathered at the exit gates of Sports City to face the team members as they left for their homes, and one fan shouted that what they had to do was work, not go home.

According to press reports, most of the players preferred not to use the main exit gates to avoid contact with angry fans.

Yesterday's defeat was the hardest in the history of the club's participation in the Champions League, and it is expected to have major impacts on the future of the team. From the departure of coach Kiki Setien, and adjustments at the management level, to the renewal of the team's blood, and dispensing with the services of many players.
