The director of the National Institutes of Health said that the corona vaccine will not be approved before the US presidential election in November.

Francis Collins, director of the National Institutes of Health, told reporters today (local time) that none of the vaccines the Trump administration is pushing for approval before November.

Collins said it would be possible in November or December, saying that the safety and efficacy must be tested on at least 10,000 people.

He also said he is confident that at least one of the six government-funded vaccine candidates will prove efficacy before the end of the year.

Earlier, President Trump said in a radio interview on the 6th that the corona vaccine could be released before November 3, the U.S. presidential election.
