Nicke Gärdin does not think that the police's actions were unclear.

- The policy is clear, 50 people can join, including visitors and participants. We see it as the Swedish Championships, where it is up to the organizer that they can show that they will not be more than 50. It is actually quite simple, says Nicke Gärdin.

Safety comes first

When the police receive an application for a permit for various events, they make an assessment based on the application if there is a good security plan.

- For example, we have seen in other places that the Black Lives Matter demonstrations, where we have seen that they will not be able to guarantee 50 people and then it is not possible, says Gärdin.

But if you make the assessment in the beginning, why withdraw the permit at the last minute as with the Swedish Championships in disc golf?

- Probably we have not been able to see that you can guarantee safety or they have not come in with the supplements we requested in time, says Gärdin and continues:

- We understand that it is not always easy with security if you are not used to tinkering with it.

"Can think we are rigid"

For the police, it does not matter whether an event spreads over a larger area or not, but a maximum of 50 people on the specified area for the event applies.

- Many may think that we are rigid, but we can not invent other rules, but we are obliged to follow the law, says Gärdin.

- It is the law that governs a maximum of 50 people and then if there are 500 in Ica, it does not matter, there we have no legislation. Ica does not fall under these rules, but then it is common sense that applies.
