In the clip above, you hear Eva Lindhusen Lindhe about the seriousness of the pandemic and the despair she felt before the summer.

Assistant infection control doctor Eva Lindhusen Lindhé opened her eyes to the spread of infection in Grebbestad after 15 people from a football team from Ale became infected there at the end of July.

- Since then, there have been cases involving Grebbestad, both from our region and outside. But it's not just Grebbestad but it also starts from Smögen and Lysekil, so the three places stand out, she says.

"Like walking in a porridge"

The infection control doctor's assessment is that the spread of the coronavirus in Grebbestad started in early July, but that it took off a couple of weeks later. The spread of infection is so general that it is not possible to point out an individual part of the locality, or for example a specific restaurant.

- It has probably been the case that the restaurants have behaved quite well while the hang around, the queues outside, the public places that you can not close so easily, where people have hung on each other and been very close. Just walking on the bridge there is like walking in a porridge, you are connected to the mass, it is not possible to keep your distance, says Eva Lindhusen Lindhé.

The infection can gain a new foothold

Now that the holiday period is starting to ebb, the infection control sees that the virus has gained a foothold among the residents of the towns in Norra Bohuslän. A clear risk is now that the infection takes off, and reaches the elderly and people in the risk group.

- I take this seriously, because these places have not had so much infection before and that means that there is potential for the spread of infection here.

What are you worried about before the autumn?

- That it should look like this spring. I believe that we will get a second peak and that we will get the infection in our special housing again and that we will have high death rates.

She says that she herself felt abandoned before the holiday and that her fears were largely fulfilled.

- Something here did not turn out at all as it should have been. Personally, I think it was a pity that we opened up for travelers, now that we see the results.
