Peoples of ancient Celtic roots, the Galicians and the Portuguese - protagonists of our second Iberian coastal route: the Atlantic - share many things, but having an author like Doña Emilia Pardo Bazán or later with food houses like El Mosquito de Vigo perhaps it gave the Galicians an initial culinary advantage. They soon joined the Spanish gastronomic phenomenon of the late twentieth century, while it took Portugal a little more to get out of the rustic tradition.
